No, it has now been confirmed. At the time I posted that comment, it was just speculated, but Microsoft has now confirmed pricing and availability of the older Xbox.
As of right now, Microsoft is no longer making original 360s. Every 360 they build is the new one. So, if you really want the older one, you only have a limited time until stock of them is gone.
They also announced price drops for both of the older consoles as well. The current Arcade unit is dropping from $199 down to $149, and the current Elite is dropping from $299 down to $249. I would guess those prices will stay like that until the holiday season, and then any remaining stock of them at that point will be cleared out.

From the talks I've had with people from the Apple Professional Services group Apple feels that real world use of OS X server is very limited. Most of their work is integrating Active Directory with Open Directory. They see most of their customers using OS X Server as the authentication, group policy, and file servers for the mac units in their customer's businesses.

Somehow I was expecting to see a lot more praise and excitement for the 3DS after it launched....
The 3D effect seems to trigger mixed reactions. Other than that...there really doesn't seem to be anything truly exciting about it? I don't see any "wow, those graphics!!" or "holy cow, this thing is fast/powerful" type comments.
The general vibe I am getting from here and other places is more like "pretty neat", rather than "wow, so awesome". :confused:

I wish Expos� would have been in iOS 4. I really don't like the current multitasking option.
I like it on my iPad but expose would have been much better.
Also, using gestures would make much more sense with expose; plus I think its a better experience overall. :)

Hopefully it's more due to people switching over from windows rather than old mac owners buying new macs. Obviously, a person who owns a mac now is going to buy another one eventually. The swtichers are going to help apple in the long run.

4$ is a lot when considering the margins mfg are working under for the average consumer model (sub 1k). I just don't see why they don't give it away and makeup the money with extra content / hardware sales that would come as a result.

My understanding was different. I take it that they are taking the same stance that Wal-Mart is, and that is that if the movie industry allows iTunes to sell movies, they will make the record companies pay for it (in a negative way). The retailers aren't ready to take on iTunes and the online market, so they are going to use their power to stall the transition to digital downloads as long as they possibly can.
What Target is doing is anti Apple, and more importantly, anti the progression of technology and lifestyle.

If you drive for work, there is a good chance you drive in the same areas, I can't see this app not caching maps.
I'm national, I've driven all over the UK this year. My cell phone is on O2, and the 3G coverage is very poor. I've opted for Orange on the iPad as their 3G is much better.

Apple is really disgusting me with this $#*(%&*( behavior. They really need to completely reevaluate their criteria and make it CRYSTAL EFFING CLEAR what IS and was IS NOT acceptable and then stand by it. None of this 'reject Google Voice because it duplicates functionality' and then 'approve the Opera web browser'. Reject an APP because it 'ridicules public figures' and then plead that the author to resubmit it once he's awarded a Pulitzer...
This wishy washy crap is really showing everyone just how UNDERHANDED they treat the whole process.
They certainly need to do better, but there is no such thing as "crystal effing clear" in the censorship of media content. They will never make all sides happy. They at least need to keep in line with their history as a company that promotes "Think Different" in their PR. Suppressing ideas and creativity certainly doesn't fall under that flag.

Microsoft just confirmed the leak from yesterday. The new version of the Xbox 360 is shipping now, and will be in stores later this week. Details are fairly slim as of right now, but here is what we know so far...

Most of my ever growing set of hand tools is American made...you really can't beat the quality and durability. I inherited an all-American car that I can't say really fits me, but I laugh in my German/Swedish car-owning friends faces come maintenance time.

I've had a very good experience with Pages. The first time I used it (quite literally too) I went to Applications, opened iWork, opened Pages, and looked for a nice template. I opened it, put in my information (it was a brochure for a condominium's open house) and changed some of the default styling. Bam. I literally had a nice, clean, even pretty, brochure that only took me 15 minutes to produce. 15 minutes.
Will I be using it as a word processor? No, it's horrible at that! Will I be making research reports with it? Well, I'll be making the text in Word and then copying it over to Pages :D. Pages is an awful word processor, but a beautiful layout program.

Just to clarify...do I need to reinstall XP now after the EFI update or should the speed be correct now?
I have a feeling a reinstall is necessary and that is fine, I'm just at work now and was wondering what to expect when I get home tonight.
